IWACON

IWACON 2019 was the inaugural, multi-cultural, 2-day fan gathering celebrating the best of comic book conventions. Taking place in Iwakuni, Japan, it was the comic-con way-station between Okinawa and Osaka. The IWACON experience combined eastern and western comic-con cultures under one roof.

IWACON’s marketing started with a fully illustrated announcement poster featuring R.O.N.Bot (Robotically Operated Nuisance), IWACON’s newly created mascot. From there, I created the marketing plan, IWACON’s logo, additional mascots (Mechamukade and Doki Doki Kaiju), digital and print materials, merchandise, large-scale window wraps, and monthly comic strips (from March to September) featuring R.O.N.Bot, ending with a 24 page comic issue of the Preview magazine.
